Bose Corporation is a privately held American corporation, based in Framingham, Massachusetts, that designs, develops and sells audio equipment. Founded in 1964 by Amar Bose, the company sells its products throughout the world. According to the company annual report in the 2017 financial year, Bose received revenue of US.8 billion and employed more than 8,000 people. Bose is best known for its home audio systems and speakers, noise cancelling headphones, professional audio systems and automobile sound systems.

Pro Audio business is almost as old as Bose Corporation. After the introduction of the iconic Bose 901 product in 1968, many musicians and bands started to use the product for live performances. This organic adoption of the 901 product was so successful that within four years, engineers at Bose created a variant of the product, the Bose Model 800, that was specifically targeted toward live music applications. That product evolved into the 802 that has been one of the most successful and long-lasting products in the pro audio industry.

Portable sound is still a key part of what Bose does. The company has expanded to almost every vertical of installed sound. From retail restaurant hospitality, corporate, stadium and arena, rental and touring, to houses of worship, nightclubs and discos, and performing arts centers around the world all use Bose professional sound reinforcement.

Bose Coorporation now covers more than 80 countries with the help of 25 subsidiaries and 50+ export partners.

Although Bose has built a reputation with our loudspeaker offerings for portable and installed applications, they are not just a loudspeaker company. They have, in parallel, built an electronics portfolio which includes amplifiers, digital signal processing, and control.
